You may remember that in our previous incarnation, we featured 419 Eater, the site that takes 419 scammers and just tries to waste their time while having as much fun at their expense as possible. The 419 Eaters normally just get scammers to prove who they say they are by taking photos of themselves holding placards with lovely slogans, or adopting humorous poses. Or sometimes even both. Since the scammers normally claim to be someone they're not, the photos are generally very badly photoshopped. But now they've taken things a step further and asked two 419 scammers to re-enact Monty Python's famous Dead Parrot Sketch. In its entirety. And they do. Watch below.

We were alerted to a trend on YouTube by a lovely friend of the show called Chelsea.. and she's found a corker. Jay Brannon played one of the men in the film 'Shortbus,' which was incidentally the most sexually explicit film ever released in the UK and included a scene in which a man sung the star spangled banner into Jay's behind. But Jay's talent is really singing, and he decided to play the song he performed in the movie on youtube: Maybe it was that there's quite a lot of speaking at the start. Or the fact that Jay sings it in a toilet. But anyway, his video struck a chord, and now there are hundreds of video replies of toilet related singing.. here, here, here and here for starters. But then my attention was drawn towards BBC 'closing down' clips. Have a look at this: Interesting the sombre BBC man's voice followed by a rather hallucinogenic snowflake. It made me realise just how much rainbows and drugs have played in TV: And in adverts: If you find some good, random, old school clips - especially of interstitials, or late-night 'closing down' bits, let me know!

Thisisaknife audience members 'film productions' made this little video: Sweet. It reminded me, a bit, of the first film I ever made when I was 17. It was slow and strange and took a sixth of a year to make. But if you have nothing else to do right now, you might want to watch the opening sequence of it, where the main character leaves his job. Basically, the film was vaguely saved by the fact that there were a lot of musical montages amongst a wasteland of silence.

1.) Regarding yesterday's post, and its title. Last night, I actually dreamt that I did genuinely pull off my face and swap it with the face of my cousin. 2.) Check this properly cool French website out. "Blogotheque" is the name, and filming impromptu music concerts is their game. Look at their video below of the band "Grizzly Bear" performing their song 'The Knife' (that's how I found out about Grizzly..) but without any instruments, and whilst walking through the back streets of Paris. In particular, focus on the man playing with his jumper. I think I love him. He's like a little child. Here is another video of theirs, by "Stars Like Fleas". New York is kind of transformed in to a desert at night.

Tom's Speaking Along Now

You may remember that this time last year, Tom Baker (Dr Who in his plummiest incarnation) leant his voice to the BT home text messaging service. Anyone sending a text message to a landline in the UK would hear Tom's beautiful speaking voice reciting said message through the holes in the end of their phone handset. Anyway, it appears that someone has spent the past year sending a lot of these messages to themself and using the resulting strings of words to make Tom Baker 'sing' various classic songs. Visit 'The Doctor Sings' for his unlikely renditions of such tunes as 'How Soon is Now?', 'Timewarp' and 'Three Lions' (both versions). The same man has also clearly been busy with the a copy of the software Stephen Hawking uses to communicate. The result is much along the same lines, and you can hear the Prof speak along to some music at 'Stephen Hawking Sings'. Our personal favourite combines these two bits of hard graft into a piece of Shatner-esque genius - a Baker/Hawking duet of 'Baby It's Cold Outside'. Cold it may be outside, but it's certainly warm in our laughter-filled rooms.

Our bee muff project kind of tailed off, and fortunately only the most vigilant of viewers pointed this out. The fact is that enough bees just couldn't be found. We'll try again next year that is for sure, but I thought you might be interested to hear that the US government is considering using bees to detect bombs. Apparently, they stick out their proboscis (nectar-sucking device) whenever they get near an explosive. Honestly, maybe all we actually need is bees. They could keep us warm, feed us, provide us with candles, and now protect us. I love bees.

I've just come across an internet TV series of the same high calibre of Sunset Beach, although maybe even more exciting - as it's made clear that on the episode dated 15th December, the main character will die. Not even the actress playing her knows who dunnit. We're up to number 65 in the daily programme tally, but with episodes of this quality - who really cares about that anyway. Wait for the shocking revelation.

Me, Brian, Mike and John often go to "Maccy D's" when we're feeling hungry. In the past, we've always walked the 6 miles to the Streatham Restaurant, but I passed my driving test last Saturday, so I told the lads that I would drive them there. On the way, we sang our "McDonald's Song". It's a ritual for us, really. Although on this occasion, I had to keep my eyes on the road, so it was sometimes hard for me to keep up with the boys! One of the main advantages of being such good friends is that you know exactly what each other eats at McDonald's. But it's not really that hard to remember. John's nickname is "Big Man" - so he's not going to want chicken nuggets, is he?! I ordered Fillet-o-fish, Mike tried Curry Sauce (for the first time), and then realised he should have stuck with Barbecue, John spilt a bit of cheese on his shirt, and Brian discovered an extra Fillet-o-fish in the bottom of the bag. Result! It felt great to fill our bellies, but we ate in silence. We were no longer boys, able to sit on plastic mushrooms without raised eyebrows in the main restaurant; we were men who had entered an adult "Drive-Thru" world, and even if Mike had wanted to, there was no chance that he could have ordered a Happy Meal. We drove off quieter than before, the fragment of cheese still clinging to John's pink shirt, and Brian manically knocking his head on the window. McDonald's had changed. "Or maybe it's we who have changed", Mike mumbled. Reluctantly, I was forced to agree with him.

I've had my eye on English Russia for a while. It's a typical comedy foreigner site with much on it that we Western Europeans can peruse smugly whilst laughing at the ways of others. This video prompted me to post, however, because while it superficially resembles Jerry Springer et al, it just seems infinitely creepier, from the drop-kick that begins proceedings to the almost silent response from the audience, who just seem to watch it as if it were a play.
